| Manager’s Blurb Kia ora everyone, Mornings are dark, noses are dripping, soup is suddenly appealing – it must be winter! Here at the house we have some things happening to brighten your days so let’s go. It’s a new term so we have a few classes starting again next week Our Yoga class is now full sorry. If you would like to register your interest for term 4 please ring us on 07 8583453. There’s space in our Sewing Class on a Thursday evening, 5.15-7.15. It’s just $80 for 8 weeks. Amanda’s a great tutor and will make sure that you pick up some great tips and have a fun time. Amanda also facilitates a Craft Group on Wednesday mornings, 9.15-11.15. It’s a casual rate of $10 a time. Shailaja runs a Bollywood Dancing class on Thursday evenings. If you’re interested contact her directly on 022 6265911. If you want to learn more about gardening then come and join our team on a Friday morning from 9.30 and learn on the job. We’ll even provide morning tea! If you have an excess harvest then come to our Crop Swap. These happen on the 3rd Saturday of every month at 10a.m. We’ll be having a Clothing Swap on August 12 from 4p.m. Swap up to 15 clean, quality items and give your wardrobe a refresh. For a couple of years we ran Warm Space with the highlight being soup and buns once a month. We’ll be doing this again on Friday, August 22 from 12p.m with some yummy home made soups. Koha appreciated. To finish, I’d like to give a big shout out to our volunteers. They go the extra mile for us packing and distributing food, working the garden, running Treat Tuesday, doing data entry, governance and helping with events (they were legends at our Matariki BBQ). So a big thank you to Amber, William, Bex, Alexandra, Philomena, Chantal, Ann George, Soanna, Brad, Raewyn, Nicola, Renee, Jules, Rachel, Jason, Trudy, Steve, Ange, Peter, Stella, Selu, Jan, Arlen and all our one-off helpers, past volunteers, and volunteers to come! Thanks for being an awesome community. Ngaa mihi nui Rob and the Waimarie team (07 858 3453, manager@waimarie.org) |
