Kia ora everyone.

Like everyone else we’re beginning the countdown to Christmas. We’ll be closing on Friday 20 December for 3 weeks BUT BEFORE THEN there’s some stuff you need to know!

We stand with Toitū Te Tiriti and on Thursday, December 5 we will be hosting two submission writing workshops (11a.m and 4p.m.) in partnership with the awesome people at Taurikura NZ to oppose the Treaty Principles Bill. We want to “Support people to make submissions that are meaningful and unique – a process where they begin to articulate why Te Tiriti is important to them – learning and becoming empowered in these ideas in the process.” Contact us if you’re interested 07 8583453 or manager@waimarie.org.

AGM! Our AGM is on Monday, December 9, 5.30 p.m. We’d love to see you there as we acknowledge another big year. Yes, there are nibbles! See the flyer below for details.

Rob is now a trained Climate Fresk facilitator. Keep an eye out for a Climate Fresk happening here early 2025. What’s Climate Fresk? A three hour workshop/game designed to raise awareness of Climate Change based on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) findings. We will be closed early on Friday, December 13 as the staff and volunteer team take the time to celebrate the year. House will close 12.15 p.m.

Our last day of the year will be Friday, December 20. We will be closing at 12.30 p.m. We will re-open on January 13.
