Kai/Foodbank

Next week marks a shift for the House as we become a foodbank hub on behalf of the Combined Christian Foodbank. We will also continue with Kaivolution food distribution and our $11 fruit and vege boxes (see our kai page). Unlike Kaivolution there are some restrictions on foodbank access. Here’s the info.

Area:

We service Hamilton East and its immediate surrounds. We encourage you to approach the food bank agency closest to you – Hamilton Food Banks.  We are located at 53 Wellington St, Hamilton East. For directions please call us on 07 858 3453. 

Food bank requirements:

1 – We offer emergency food parcels. A letter from Work and Income NZ stating that you are not eligible for food assistance is necessary to access the food bank (this letter can be obtained from your local Work and Income office and needs to be dated within the last 7 days). 2 – After your third request, please register with a budgeting service. 

This application needs to be processed by our team and does not instantly guarantee food support.

Hours:

Please make an appointment to see us. Monday-Tuesday 1-3p.m.

Food bank pick ups will be Wednesday-Thursday 1-3 p.m.
